These are cut from 1.2 mm sheet metal — brushed brass, antique bronze, copper tone or stainless steel — then chemically etched so the design sits recessed below the surface. The etched channels can be flooded with enamel color or left bare so the raw metal itself reads as the artwork. Edges are deburred smooth, and every piece carries real weight in the hand, which is most of the reason people keep them for decades.

Fine detail is where metal earns its place: seals, crests, skylines, signatures and small type all hold cleanly. Our designers rebuild the artwork free at etching resolution, and the free 24-hour mockup shows the finish, the fill colors and the true size against a hand-scale reference. Metal does not fade, warp or absorb moisture, so a piece dated this year looks identical at its tenth hanging.
